Engineering Manager @Meister

Jul 2023 - Jul 2024

After leading the 9-person Frontend Team as Tech Lead to re-evaluate our custom Tech-Stack and completely rebuilding the MeisterNote Editor, I was promoted to Engineering Manager of the MeisterNote Team. I closely worked with Product, Marketing and Leadership to ship new features that were highly anticipated by 50% of our customer base. We especially worked to incorporate GenAI into our tool, which was helped by the new editor we build. This way I quickly became one of the best performing Engineering Managers at Meister, being deeply involved into the Tech as well as personally managing a Team of 4 Intermediate and Senior Engineers. In close collaboration with QA, drove E2E test coverage from zero to 75% of critical paths in CI/CD, enabling the team to double release cadence to twice weekly. Led a company-wide initiative to document unwritten architectural decisions across 6 squads, surfacing technical risks before they became production problems and accelerating onboarding for new engineers.

Tech-Stack: React, Elixir, Kubernetes, Postgres, GCloud, Braintree

Software Engineer @Meister

Jul 2020 - Jun 2023

I started as a Frontend Engineer at Meister, a productivity Tool company, starting in MeisterTask, and quickly started shipping big improvements, being part of a reliability squad, which focused on diving deep into old Tech Debt and reworking these. Later, I took over a lot of the CI/CD pipeline, adding a new deploy process, taking us from 30-minute manual deploys (without rollback strategy) to 3 minutes automatic deploys with one-click rollbacks. Afterwards I took ownership of migrating our infrastructure from VMs to Kubernetes on GCloud, which took me and a Staff Engineer around 6 months, but we could deploy it without any downtime.

Tech-Stack: React, Ruby, Kubernetes, Postgres, GCloud, Braintree

Full Stack Engineer @PicsPi

Apr 2017 - Jul 2020

As an early Full Stack Engineer, first part-time then full-time, I was involved in building a Marketplace where content creator could sell their photos and videos to companies. Either by taking part in challenges of companies or selling their content one time to companies. For this I was involved in the architecture building everything on AWS with PHP (Phalcon) and Vue on the Frontend. Implemented marketplace payment flows using Stripe Connect. PicsPi was part of the Stripe Atlas program. To accommodate that images were only sold once on our platform I had to develop an algorithm to check that using image embedding and similarity hashes to determine that the image wasn't just changed slightly.

Tech-Stack: Vue, PHP, MongoDB, AWS, Stripe Connect

Salesforce Developer @AVL (Austria, then Korea)

Apr 2016 - Dec 2018

Salesforce Developer @AVL (Austria, then Korea) Next to my studies and my work at PicsPi I worked part-time at AVL Graz and Seoul. I started as Salesforce Admin and started to take over small Apex development tasks. Finally, I took over using the Salesforce SQL language to create custom Dashboards for our German and Korean Head of Sales.

Tech-Stack: HTML, CSS, Apex
